We are excited to announce our new Easter revision school programme in Wells Cathedral School, Somerset providing students with an incredible opportunity to boost their academic performance with an intensive immersive experience. Those who join us for the Easter can also enjoy year-round access to our online community and academic resources.

Nestled in the picturesque city of Wells, Somerset, this esteemed institution boasts a rich history dating back to 909 A.D. and is globally renowned for its focus on music education. Easter Revision participants will be accommodated in one of two boarding houses - one of which is situated on the oldest residential street in Europe. Each room will accommodate a maximum of two students. Trained residential staff will be present around the clock to assist. All meals will be served in the school's dining room.

Easter Intensive Revision

We have immense confidence in our curricula, so much so that we guarantee every student will see an improvement in their grades, irrespective of their background or initial position. Our tuition is delivered either on a one-to-one basis or in subject-specific small groups (maximum of 6).

The Curriculum

Our emphasis lies in the following areas:
  1. Exam Technique: Our courses place a strong emphasis on exam technique and practice, aiding students in maximising their scores. We concentrate on answer timings, question interpretation and assessment criteria.
  2. Tailored to Exam Board: Our tutors focus their lessons on specific examination units from specific exam boards, ensuring strict adherence to the specifications.
  3. Knowledge Enhancement: Our tutors identify weak points in each student's knowledge and provide them with a personalised plan to strengthen their understanding in those areas.
  4. Study Skills: We conduct study skills sessions to equip students with the right mindset, skill set and tool set needed to optimise their own revision time. Topics covered include:
  • Time management, prioritisation, and meeting deadlines
  • Creating effective revision plans and notes
  • Mastering essay and exam techniques
  • Enhancing concentration, managing breaks, and handling stress
  • Employing effective memorisation techniques

Social Programme

While our primary goal is to help students achieve the exam results they aspire to, we also aim to provide them with a memorable experience. We encourage personal growth alongside academic development.
Students will have the chance to discover the rich history of Wells, exploring the city's heritage. They will also have access to the school's superb amenities, including expansive playing fields and a swimming pool.

Subjects Overview

We offer a comprehensive range of subjects, spanning GCSE, IGCSE, A-level, International A-level, Pre-U, and IB. 
Students have the flexibility to choose either one A-level subject per week or two different GCSE subjects per week. Additionally, students can opt to study different subjects each week or focus on the same subject for the entire period.
Please note that practical-natured subjects , such as Design Technology, PE, and Drama, are excluded from our offerings. As this is a revision course, we do not provide support for coursework, IB Extended Essay, or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). For assistance regarding the EPQ, please refer to our Summer EPQ Intensive Workshop.

Timings Overview

There is a flexibility to participate in our revision programme for a duration of 1 to 3 weeks, available on the following dates:
  • Week 1: Monday 1st April to Friday 5th April
  • Week 2: Monday 8th April to Friday 12th April
  • Week 3: Monday 15th April to Friday 19th April
If students wish to extend their stay, additional nights can be arranged pro-rata.
For those arriving directly in Wells, please arrive from 16:00 onwards on Sunday. Alternatively, we offer a complimentary minibus service from Bristol Parkway Station at 14:00, 17:00 and 20:00 every arrival Sunday (31st, 7th, and 14th). Students can also be brought back to Bristol Parkway on Saturdays, departing from Wells at 13:30.
​*Transfers arranged before or after the set arrival days will incur an additional charge.

Example Timetable

Timetables are tailored to individual students based on their selected subjects. In total, students will receive 28 hours of tuition each week: 15 hours of subject-specific tuition, 5 hours allocated for study skills, and 8 hours for independent exam practice sessions. An illustrative timetable for one week is provided below:

Safeguarding & Wellbeing ​

All our staff will have undergone thorough Safeguarding training, overseen by the Centre Manager who serves as the designated Safeguarding lead.
​Staff members will be present on-site at all times, ensuring they are available 24 hours a day to address any student concerns or inquiries.
